A newly developed campsite allows weary travelers the option of staying over at Bahurutshe Cultural Village.
Upon arrival at the cultural village, you will be shown how traditional huts were once made, painted and decorated using natural earth colours. Visitors to the village are encouraged to participate in the smoothing of the mud floor using clay, mixed with cow dung and then later, participate in another common chore such as grinding maize in the mortar (Kika) to prepare maize meal for your traditional lunch.
While waiting for lunch you will be entertained by traditional dances and songs. A mock wedding ceremony will be performed for you to see how Batswana conduct their traditional weddings. During this time you will have time to interact with villagers and listen to stories about the culture and tradition of the Bahurutshe tribe. The tour is rounded off with a return trip back to Gaborone, where you will be returned to your hotel.
